I love fresh salad and we eat PLENTY of it all summer long. I make salad plates ahead of time, pop them in the fridge and boom! Instant dinner. As convenient as pre-mixed baby greens and bagged salad can be I still like to chop my own salad. Crunchy red leaf lettuce, butter lettuce, romaine, they just taste better cut fresh. One problem. Wet matted lettuce.

I was so excited to see all the fantastic salad gear Dexas sent me to try that I jumped right in!

The first thing I did was to check out their CHOP & SCOOP® cutting board . This board is the cutting board of my dreams! I know, I know, “It’s a cutting board,” you say. I say here’s why I’m sold on it. It has stay put feet. That’s right, no more slippery towels to contend with when prepping. I keep my knives razor-sharp and my board staying put is very important to me. You get the picture.
After some severe chopping I was surprised to not see any knife cuts. Scratches allow bacteria to get trapped and over time it can cause foodborne illness if not properly cleaned.
The shape helps hold juices on the board and the handle makes it easy to transfer pieces to a spinner or bowl. Also these boards are made in USA.
I waited to wash the lettuce to see how the Turbo Salad Spinner would handle a workout. I love the design. The spinner is open on the bottom. Why is that a big deal? Most salad spinners collect water in the bottom and your lettuce lays in it until you empty it and spin it some more. Not with this spinner.
Look at these gears!

My red leaf spun out beautifully!

By the way, here’s my old colander. Sad I know. Thanks Dexas for the new Collapsible POP Strainer! .
I had my fresh greens ready, so I quickly sliced up a tomato, cucumber threw on a few black olives and grilled some shrimp.
Dinner! Crisp crunchy lettuce, fresh veggies and tender shrimp! Hello Summer!

I received a variety package of kitchen utensils from Dexas to review. I was under no obligation to create a post or received additional compensation. Opinions expressed are my own.
