Indulge in Italian Chocolate and Strawberry Spreads #review #ad

Blueberry Nocciolata Puff Pastry

I recently received a jar of Nocciolata, chocolate hazelnut spread and Fiordirutta, Strawberries and Wild Strawberries fruit spread by Rigoni di Asiago to review. I received no further compensation for my review, recipe or post. Opinions are my own.

Nothing beats fresh fruit. For cookies I sometimes like the convenience of a good preserve. For these cookies I used Rigoni di Asiago Fiordirutta a jam made with fresh and wild strawberries. A bit tart. A bit sweet. A good offset for a sweet brown sugar based blondie.

From the website.

Fiordifrutta is produced using only top quality organic fruit, selected from the best areas of origin, picked only when perfectly ripened, sweetened with apple juice and with the addition of natural fruit pectin. It is processed at room temperature to preserve at bets the taste and fragrance of freshly-picked fruit. It contains no added sugar, artificial aromas and colors. Fiordifrutta comes in 26 different flavors!

Blueberry Nocciolata Pastry Puffs

Blueberry Nocciolata Puff Pastry

Nocciolata chocolate hazelnut spread is USDA certified organic, gluten free product.

From the website:

“It’s actually quite simple. Quality ingredients produce superior taste. Only certified organic ingredients go into each jar of creamy, dreamy Nocciolata. That means no chemicals, no artificial flavors, no GMOs and absolutely zero palm oil. Nocciolata is still made following the Rigoni’s exclusive family recipe. It is a slow process that uses only carefully selected ingredients like dark chocolate from the Antillean Islands, Italian hazelnuts (16%), brown sugar, skim milk and Bourbon vanilla extract.”

You can use it as a spread for toast, muffins or even pancakes.
Nocciolata pairs well with fruit. It’s chocolate right? 🙂

I feel both these spreads would work wonderfully in desserts like jelly rolls and filled doughnuts. Imagine biting into one! Yum!

20 Tantalizing Iced Teas to Tame Summer Heat

20 Tantalizing Iced Teas to Tame Summer Heat

20 tea

tea roundup1Drinking tea goes back thousands of years and is a mainstay in so many cultures. At one time, tea trade ruled the world as a basis for the economy. Business was discussed over tea. Social affairs and tea time became a fashion staple.

Brewed tea leaves, green tea, sun tea, white tea, all terms people use to describe these tasty leaves.

Iced tea goes hand in hand with summer by satisfying summer thirst. I don’t find soda makes the mark. Water is best but sometimes I need a bit of pizzazz.
Refreshing iced tea comes in all kinds of flavors. Some are fruity. Some are sweet. Some are spicy and others spiked. This round up truly has something for everyone!
Thanks again to all the great bloggers that contributed to quenching our thirst!

Cheesy Chicken Mac #SundaySupper

cheesy Chicken Mac
Cheesy Chicken Mac nestles little chicken meatballs between shells covered in creamy cheese sauce. Adding spinach, celery and onion kicks up the nutrition.
This week Sunday Supper cooks up hot lunch ideas for back to school lunchboxes.
back to school

When I was a kid, thermos soup was our hot meal choice. I was a big fan of chicken and stars but tomato was a close second.
Now children have access to microwaves and parents can purchase containers designed to transport and serve hot food for lunch.

Every kid I know, big and small loves mac and cheese. There’s a thousand ways, probably more to make this tasty dish. I think my favorite is Lobster Mac & Cheese. That might be a bit pricey for everyday lunch.

So I got to thinking about what else do kids like in their mac and cheese? How about meatballs?
Better yet, how do chicken meatballs with some veggies sneaked in sound to you? A little spinach, some celery and onion…yes that’s it!

  • 2 tablespoons diced onion
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil divided
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg (optional)
  • cheese sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard

  • Divide into 18 mini meatballs. Brown meatballs in a large skillet in 1 tablespoon olive oil. (oven safe skillet is ideal)
  • Place meatballs in an oven safe pan. Cook at 350 for about 10 minutes until thoroughly cooked.
  • cheese sauce
  • While meatballs bake, add milk, cornstarch, butter, mustard, salt and pepper to a saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat stirring constantly. Remove from heat when sauce thickens. Stir in cheese.
  • Combine pasta, meatballs and sauce. Serve.
