Triple Garlic Knots #BreadBakers

Triple Garlic Knots

Triple Garlic Knots are for true garlic lovers only! Roasted garlic, minced garlic and granulated garlic combine to make a bread that’s power-packed with garlicky goodness.

Welcome to another fun and tasty visit from the Bread Bakers!

BreadBakers

Our ingredient of the month is GARLIC, in celebration of National Garlic Day in the United States – 19 April – and one of our favorite food holidays. Black garlic, white garlic, elephant garlic, smoked garlic; powdered, roasted, raw, crushed or whole, include some garlic in your bread!

Triple Garlic Knots Plate

If you love garlic as much as I do, then this is a no-brainer. Tender, bread dough kissed with the sweetness of roasted garlic. Work granulated garlic in the dough too. Bake until golden brown. Brush these beauties with garlic oil.
Did you notice the size of these knots? No, these aren’t magnified. When you have garlic bread this good, you want to go bigger! Let’s say just between us that these garlic knots are great dinner rolls. Even sandwich rolls.

Yes you can still serve these knots with your favorite marinara.

Batter-dipped Turkey Tenders #SundaySupper

batter-dipped turkey tenders plate

Serve Batter-dipped Turkey Tenders when chicken tenders just will not do.

I eat very little deep fried foods. Breaded, oven-fried chicken and fish usually win out.

But there are times when I crave something crunchy and satisfying like crispy fries or beer-battered anything. Bite into a light, flaky, crunchy coated slice of turkey tenderloin and you’ll wonder why you never thought of making turkey this way before!

Batter-dipped Turkey

Beer batter knocks this dish out of the park. Hmm, park, picnic, turkey tenders, I see a great idea brewing (pun intended).

Best part is you can eat these treats with your fingers. That’s a good thing since this week Sunday Supper serves up our favorite finger-licking good finger foods!

Create a dish that doesn’t need a knife and fork, or even chopsticks to get it to your mouth.

Less dishes right? 😉

Beer batter-dipped foods add a lighter crust that seals in the juices of meat. This is a great way to make turkey since turkey easily winds up dry or overcooked.

Remember to serve plenty of napkins. Oh and steak fries go great with these too!

Batter-dipped Turkey Tenders

Ingredients

  • 1 pound turkey tenderloin cut into strips
  • 6 ounces light beer or lager
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  • Whisk together beer and egg
  • in a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and seasoned salt. whisk into to beer mixture
  • let batter set for about a minute to thicken
  • dip turkey pieces in batter and fry at 350 until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165 degrees
  • Drain on a paper towel and serve with your favorite dipping sauce

Welcome everyone! It’s time again to #FillTheCookieJar!

Every month our #FillTheCookieJar cookie loving group meets to share our best cookies and bars to fit the theme. This month we welcome the return of spring, cookie style!

Fresh blueberries tossed in a bit of flour will help keep your cookies from turning “blue”. I used a basic cookie dough recipe you can use for chocolate chip, nuts, marshmallows or candy pieces.

Glazed Blueberry Cookies

These cookies won’t last long, guaranteed! Switch it up a little by substituting lemon or orange flavor in the cookie or the glaze. Try mixed berries. Add a few white chocolate chips. No rules!
