Chocolate Spice Coffee Bean Cookies #fbcookieswap

Chocolate Spice Coffee Bean Cookies are soft chewy chocolate cookies with a hint of clove and a surprise! Chocolate covered coffee beans are tucked inside.

Chocolate Spice Coffee Bean Cookies

This is my first year participating in The Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap hosted by Lindsay of Love & Olive Oil and Julie of The Little Kitchen!

cookieswap2014

This event benefits  COOKIES FOR KIDS’ CANCER, a national non-profit organization committed to funding new therapies used in the fight against pediatric cancer, which claims the lives of more children in the US than any other disease. By participating in this cookie swap we are not only contributing to the food blogger community, but also supporting a great cause.

How it works: You bake 3 dozen of the same cookie. Lindsay and Julie “swap” our names. We get 3 names each to send out our cookies and your name go out to 3 other bloggers. You get 3 dozen cookies back. A different one from each blogger. Pretty cool, huh?
Here are the 3 cool blogs I received delicious cookies from:
Maple Glazed Spice Brown Sugar Cookies from Beth at Beth’s Blue Plate Special
Snowballs from Terri at Love and Confections
Peppermint Patty Cookies from Alyssa and Carla

I hope the food bloggers that got my cookies enjoyed them!
Erin from Erin Cooks
Kaitlin from I Can cook That
Kathi from Deliciously Yum!
These Chocolate Spice Coffee Bean Cookies will add a little spice to your holidays!

Champagne Chicken #SundaySupper

Champagne Chicken
Light the candles, grab the champagne, pop the cork; its time to make chicken! No that’s not a misprint. Today Sunday Supper features Libational Recipes. Champagne Chicken tastes perfect for a celebration. Champagne infused sauce gives chicken a bit of tang balanced with a drizzle of honey.

My first experience with champagne was Asti Spumante. I wasn’t sure if I liked the taste or not. I conceded it was what you drank to ring in the New Year. Over the years I tried different types of sparkling wines. I’m open now to any suggestions!

I admit that those first few bottles of bubbly were scary to open. More hit the floor than our glasses!

Working in catering taught me that you hold the cork and twist the bottle. Who knew, did you? 😉 Don’t forget to serve a glass of bubbly on the side!

Thank you Alice of A Mama, Baby & Shar-pei in the Kitchen and DB (aka Foodie Stuntman) of Crazy Foodie Stunts for hosting this event!

Fun Fact: Champagne is named for the region in France where the grapes are grown. Wine made from grapes grown anywhere else is known as Sparkling Wine.
