Change of Season Storage Tutorial #MyInspiredFall #DunkinAtHome

I strive to make the most of every day. My day officially starts with my first cup of coffee. I’m a planner by nature, and nothing beats sitting down with my favorite mug of Dunkin’ Donuts® Original Blend Ground Coffee in hand, to sip and think.
Dunkin’ Donuts® Original Blend Ground Coffee tastes great every time. I love waking up to that familiar flavor and aroma. A true classic.

Fall means time to pack summer away and get ready for cooler weather. Packing summer away can be more than throwing shorts and swimsuits in a box. I found it takes a little more thought to keep beach toys, hats, extra sunglasses and assorted summer only items from getting lost in the shuffle.

It also definitely takes a second cup of coffee to sort things out. Dunkin’ Donuts® Original Blend Ground Coffee gives me a boost to keep going strong. I can always find it at Giant Foods in Allentown, PA.

Packing away all the summer gear can seem like a big job. That’s where organizing as you go makes sense. Doing it in a relaxed atmosphere like when the kids are back at school is perfect timing. I’ll put on a big pot of Dunkin’ Donuts® Original Blend coffee and get started.

Gather Storage Supplies

I found inexpensive storage bags at a discount store. Any large tub with a lid or garment storage bag with a zipper works well.

I like to use trays for dividers. You can also use resealable plastic bags to separate items. You can write on the bags too. Remember to only store washed items that are thoroughly dry to prevent mold or mildew.

Fall temperature can be unpredictable. I keep summer clothes out of the mix. Shorts and summer tops get moved to where I can still access these easily.

Replace and Restock Summer Items

We all take advantage of post-holiday sales. Half price decorations, candy or wrapping paper. I admit I’m a pushover for leftover Halloween candy!

End of Summer sales are a great time to buy clearance items to pack away for next season. You can often get great prices on extra sunglasses, beach towels, footwear, pool toys and more. Sunscreen for example, can be used year-round for outdoor protection.

Create a Hit and Miss List

A review list of what everyone enjoyed should also be included. Was the trip to a historic site a hit or miss? How about movie night? Which movies did everyone like best, comedies, animated or scary ones? Did they enjoy the trips to the beach or was the pool more fun? You can include pictures too.

A hit or miss list will also get the creative juices flowing for next year.

Many businesses give out free calendars for promotion or you can print your own from templates online. You may also find a 2019 planner at a back to school sale before these sales over. Jot down new places to spend the day. Perhaps a park you never visited would be a great place for a picnic. Revisit a museum for new exhibits. Research free and community events that are ongoing and fill in those dates. Schedule a movie night, hike or pool party, whatever your family finds fun!

Once you have a change of seasons system in place, you can easily switch from one season to another.
